Purpose and Objectives

The Turlock Gridiron Committee is an advisory body committed to enhancing the development and operation of our flag football league. Our main roles include:

Community Representation:

   -Collaboration with Local Organizations: Partner with schools, community groups, and local governments to integrate the league into the fabric of Turlock.

   - Engagement with Stakeholders: Actively gather feedback from parents, educators, community leaders, and players to shape the league’s direction.

Prioritizing the Best Interests of the Kids:

   - Youth-Centered Decision-Making: Ensure decisions prioritize the safety, well-being, and development of children, fostering positive experiences and sportsmanship.

   - Developmental Programs: Design programs that support physical, mental, and emotional growth.

Administrative Support:

   - Operational Assistance: Aid in organizing events, managing schedules, and handling registrations.

   - Streamlining Processes: Improve administrative processes for efficiency, including online registration and parent communication.

Sponsorships and Financial Aid:

   - Sponsorship Events: Organize events to raise funds for league operations and scholarships.

   - Every Kid Sports Participation: Facilitate access to financial aid opportunities for all families.

Rule Development and Balance:

   - CIF Rules for High School Divisions: Implement CIF guidelines for consistency and fairness.

   - Balancing Youth Rules: Develop non-contact versions of the game for younger players focusing on skill development and safety.

Promotion and Growth:

   -Women’s Flag Football: Promote and expand opportunities for women and girls in the sport.

   -Under-4 Division: Develop engaging programs for the youngest participants.

Sponsorship Management:

   -Sponsorship Acquisition: Build relationships with local businesses for funding and resources.

   - Financial Oversight: Ensure transparent and effective use of sponsorship funds.

Referee and Staff Management:

   - Support Systems: Develop tools and resources for referees and staff.

Parental Involvement and Voice:

   - Parent Representation: Provide parents with a strong voice in decision-making through consultations and feedback.

   - Family Engagement: Foster a family-friendly environment encouraging parent involvement.

Adult League Development:

    - Adult Flag Football Leagues: Develop and support adult flag football leagues to provide recreational and competitive opportunities for adults in Turlock.

    - Program Expansion: Create programs and events that cater to adults, including local tournaments and social leagues.

    - Community Engagement: Promote the adult leagues through community outreach and partnerships to increase participation.

Our goal is to create a well-organized, community-centered flag football league that:

• Awesome Selective Passionate Volunteers: Our league thrives thanks to our dedicated volunteers who bring enthusiasm, expertise, and a deep commitment to youth sports.
• The New "Free Agent" System: We start with a randomized pick order for the draft. For every player request accepted by a coach, a round selection will be lost from the draft pool. This ensures a balanced and fair team selection process.
• Special Combine Day: Stay tuned for our special combine day where players' performance metrics will be recorded. This data is exclusively for volunteer coaches to create balanced and competitive teams.
• Enhanced Registration Process: We’ve included more questions in our registration to better balance our teams and ensure a fair and competitive environment.
• Coaches Clinic: We are committed to supporting our coaches with a comprehensive clinic for all new coaches, helping them to deliver the best experience for players.
• Varsity and JV High School Divisions: Our high school divisions adhere strictly to current CIF rules, maintaining a high standard of play and competition.
• Inclusive Divisions: We offer divisions for all ages, from under-4s to adults, and even special needs divisions. We ensure that every participant has a place in our league.
• Coach Petition Process: Coaches now have the opportunity to submit petitions which will be reviewed and voted on by the Advisory Committee. This means parents and coaches have a direct say in the league’s direction and decisions.
• Parent Voice: The league president is committed to ensuring that parents have a meaningful voice in league decisions, fostering a collaborative environment where your input shapes our league’s future.
